It's raining offers for international travel during the vacation period this year. Leading global airlines such as Emirates Airlines, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, Air Arabia and others have come out with promotional offers in a bid to attract Indian tourists by offering cheaper fares.

Emirates Airline, the Dubai-based international airline, launched its offer “Summer Smiles in Dubai” specifically targeting families with children under 12 years.

Passengers who book a three-night package with select hotels in Dubai between May 14 and September 30 can have up to two children under the age of 12 years to fly at 50 per cent off the adult fare while their stay, meals and play in Dubai is free when travelling with two paying adults.

Fares under the scheme begin at Rs 74,823, which comprises a three-night stay for two adults and two children which includes the visa cost for the children.

“We have already witnessed a 30 per cent increase in bookings during the summer period. This has also been aided by our other two offers which are directed at First Class and Business Class passengers,” said Mr Vinay Malhotra, Regional Manager – North & East India, Emirates Airline.

Turkish Airline has not only added 11 more destinations on its international routes, but also introduced promotional fares on its European destinations. Return fares to Valencia, Malaga and Toulouse begin at Rs 31,540, while for Genoa and Turin start at Rs 29,350.

“As the holiday season approaches, it is a much needed strategic move taken by the company to please their customers in India,” said the airline in a statement.

The needs of students have also not been forgotten. British Airways has tied up with Matrix, Croma and ICICI to offer easy travel options for students. The airline announced that university students travelling to the UK, the US, Canada and select European destinations will be able to carry an extra piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kg for the travel period June 1 to November 15.

Speaking on the initiative, Ms Judy Jarvis, British Airways, Regional Commercial Manager, South Asia said, “We recognise that students are going overseas for a long period, and will require extra luggage when they travel. We want to make it as easy as possible for them. In addition to this offer, we have partnered with some key groups to provide exciting initiatives to help students save even more as they prepare to enter college.”

To avail the special partner offers, students would need to present their British Airways ticket and student ID card at the respective retail stores.

Low-cost carrier Air Arabia is offering holiday packages to Kenya. A five-day four night trip to the country would cost Rs 49,500 per person on a twin-sharing basis and the offers are available in Mumbai, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.

Mr A.K. Nizar, Head of Commercial at Air Arabia, said, “We have thoughtfully chosen this destination for our customers this holiday season. We are delighted to offer this exciting low-cost holiday package to Kenya from six cities in India.”

This package offers a daily buffet breakfast in Nairobi and full board Indian cuisine meals during the Safari. Besides, game drives, park entrance fee and all hotel taxes and service charges will be part of this summer package.
