With four lakh more commuters using its services, the Metro Railway, Kolkata, has set a new record in terms of the number of ridership this financial year.
Altogether 13.74 crore passengers used Metro Railway till February 10 during 2010-11, a Metro release said. "Thus, the previous record was broken with 49 days still to go before the current financial year ends,” it said.
To cope with the additional commuters, it has been decided to run 14 additional trains from Monday.
