The economic development in Bihar, once amongst the least developed States, came to focus today when the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, honoured its Road Construction Secretary, Mr Pratya Amrit, for his role in building over 400 bridges in the State in a short span of time.
The Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam (BRPNN) under Mr Amrit as Managing Director has been credited with bringing a major turnaround in Bihar by building over 400 bridges in the State between 2006 to 2009 to strengthen the road transport infrastructure.
Mr Amrit was bestowed with “PM's excellence award in the field of public administration” in the individual category on the occasion of Civil Services Day here.
