Members in the Lok Sabha on Monday asked the Railway Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, to complete all pending projects initiated by her or her predecessors. Participating in the resumed discussion on the Railway budget, the RJD Chief, Mr Lalu Prasad, urged her to explain the status of projects which he as a Railway Minister had initiated across the country including in Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, Chapra, Muzaffarpur and Mokama in Bihar and Kanchrapara and Digha in West Bengal.
He alleged that most of these projects were suffering due to laxity and inefficiency of officers. Mr Prasad said he would not comment on Ms Banerjee's preference for initiating projects in West Bengal as all ministers have a soft corner for their own states. He too had a weakness for Bihar, the former Railway Minister said.
