Mr Marcel Hungerbuehler, President of airport operator Bangalore International Airport Ltd, completes his contract effective March 1.
In what can be seen as a gradual localisation of BIAL's top management, Mr Hari Marar will take over as President - Operations of the nearly three-year-old airport on March 1, BIAL announced on Thursday.
Mr Daniel Bircher will be the new Director - Operations, moving in from Zurich Airport to the post that Mr Marar vacates. Mr Hungerbuehler joined BIAL in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer and played a crucial role in starting up and running the operations of the new airport before and since it opened in May 2008.
Mr Marar has 15 years of experience in service industries including hospitality, airlines and airports across Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore.
He joined BIAL in September 2006 as the head of daily operations and is responsible for all operations at the airport.
