Several zonal railways will run Puja specials to cope with the rush during the forthcoming festive season.
South central rly
Thus, South Eastern Railway will run 51 pairs of special trains to various destinations such as Mumbai, Haridwar, Mysore, Tirupati and Rajendranagar on nominated days between September 3 and Novemebr 27, according to a SER release.
Of these, nine pairs each will run between Howrah – LTT (Mumbai) – Howrah and Shalimar-Tirupati-Shalimar and 10 pairs each between Howrah-Mysore-Howarh and Shalimar-Haridwar-Shalimar and another 13 pairs between Tata-Rajendranagar-Tata.
East Coast Rly
The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run a number of weekly Puja specials between Bhubaneswar and Tirupati, Puri and Bangalore, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad and Santragachi between September 9 and December 30.
In addition, it has already started running weekly special trains between Bhubaneswar and Manmad (till October 30) and Visakhapatnam and Shirdi (till December 30).
East Central RLY
The East Central Railway (ECR) informs that special trains to be run between September 16 and November 20 will include Dibrugarh-Chandigarh-Dibrugarh weekly special covering the Katihar-Barauni-Hajipur-Gorakh stretch and Kamakhya-LTT( Mumbai)-Kamakhya weekly special covering the Barauni-Patna-Mughal stretch of ECR.
