Air Italy on Thursday announced its entry into the Indian market, offering services from New Delhi and Mumbai to Milan, effective from December 7 and December 14 respectively.

Connecting Italy to two of the main business destinations in Asia, India will be the 4th international addition to the Air Italy network after the successful launch of its operations to New York (JFK), Miami (MIA) and Bangkok (BKK) from its new hub in Milan-Malpensa (MXP). 

Air Italy’s Chief Operating Officer, Rossen Dimitrov said, “We look forward to the connection between Italy and two of the main business and tourist destinations in Asia— Mumbai and New Delhi. With the launch of our operations in December, we are excited to offer new routes and a wider travel option to the discerning travelers from India. Our new service will increase convenience for business guests, leisure travelers as well as students, traveling between India and Italy, strengthening commerce as well as tourism ties between the two countries.”

Easy access

With the addition of the two routes, Air Italy offers travelers a range of both domestic and international connectivity options from the airline’s hub and access to exclusive destinations.

Passengers traveling from India to Milan will be able to fly to destinations such as Rome, Catania and Palermo (Sicily), Naples (Campania) Lamezia Terme (Calabria) and Olbia Costa Smeralda (Sardinia) via the Malpensa airport. Moreover, Air Italy passengers from Delhi and Mumbai can travel to New York and Miami with connection at via Milan’s Malpensa.

The Airbus A330-200 will be deployed for the two new routes, operating thrice a week from both cities. Offering 24 seats in the exclusive Business class cabin, an Italian menu accompanied by a selection of fine Italian wines and champagne, Wi-Fi service, extensive in-flight entertainment and personalized attention from the on-board staff. The Economy class cabin, with 228 seats, offers Air Italy guests a personalized service, Wi-Fi and a choice of on-board entertainment.

Promotional fares are on sale, starting from ₹29, 472 for a return ticket per person, all-inclusive from Delhi, and from 30,597 rupees from Mumbai.
