Andhra Pradesh has requested the South Central Railways to put on priority the project for doubling the railway line between Guntur and Guntakal.
This emerged during a review meeting on existing railway projects in Andhra Pradesh, which was chaired by State Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao.
Railway officials said that the survey for doubling the line between Guntur and Guntakal has been completed.
The Chief Secretary has issued instructions to put up a letter to the Chairman, Railway Board for taking up the projects, including Pithapuram-Kakinda and Nadikudi-Srikalahasthi on priority basis.
