The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has launched e-ticket booking facility through smart phones.
The facility will enable passengers to book tickets in advance through smart phones. Passenger can visit >www.apsrticonline.com and >www.tsrtcbus.in and book their tickets through 'Book Tickets' tab. In view of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, passengers can now book tickets through both the portals.
The advance reservation facility is provided through Online Passenger Reservation System (OPRS) for different types of buses spanning 3,668 services of different types. Through this facility, over 1.41 lakh seats are offered daily for advance/current reservation. Of this, about 45,000 seats are booked on an average per day.
According to the corporation, mobile phones these days are being extensively used for carrying out online transactions.
J Purnachandar Rao, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APSRTC, said, a board meeting would be held shortly to take forward the bifurcation process of the corporation.
