Asia Aviation, the Delhi-based chartered services firm, has ordered three LET 410 aircraft to start operations to small towns. The $20-million order would also give Asia Aviation an option to buy two more LETs.
It signed an agreement with InterGlobe Established to acquire the aircraft. The 19-seater commuter would help bigger airlines to connect to smaller cities. "We will talk to them to enter into tie ups. While they provide us the capacity, we will help them in the latent potential in smaller cities," Capt. V K Kukar, Managing Director of Asia Aviation, told Business Line .
Mr Nigel A. Harwood, President and Chief Executive Officer of InterGlobe Established, said the manufacturer would set up an MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul facility) in India to support the services.
