Airports Authority of India has confirmed that Bhubaneswar airport will become operational at 10 a.m. today, a senior official of the Authority told newspersons. The area was receiving heavy rains early this morning.
Meanwhile, the Jet Airways Web site now shows that its services to Bhubaneswar and Ranchi have been disrupted due to Cyclone Phailin. On Saturday, before Phailin made landfall, there were no commercial flights to either Bhubaneswar or Visakhapatnam, though both the airports were open for operations.
