Italy-based Cargoitalia has entered into a contract with Technopark-based IBS Software for implementing its cargo management solution, iCargo.
IBS is a leading global provider of new generation IT solutions to the travel, transportation and logistics industries.
The implementation of iCargo at Cargoitalia is set to be completed by July, a spokesperson for IBS announced here on Thursday.

The solution will then manage the entire freight movement of this all-cargo carrier including core cargo operations from quotes and bookings through reports pertaining to capacity and revenue management, track and trace, accounting, proof of deliveries and irregularity to ULD (unit load device) management.
With limited exceptions, ULD are an essential part of the aircraft during flight, a document of International Air Transport Association (IATA).
They must be designed, repaired and operated in accordance with the requirements of bodies such FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) and EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).
Incorrect cargo loading procedures has caused at least one major crash in 1997 and over the past few years there has been a growing oversight of air cargo operations by airworthiness authorities.
