The Chennai port has successfully handled 293 tonne Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) for Chennai Petroleum Corporation.
On April 12, the port handled the boiler, which was moved by a barge vessel Bluming Dale from Mumbai to Chennai port.
The barge was safely moored at West Quay II of Ambedkar Dock by Tug Shiva. It was then offloaded on to the trailer to move to the CPCL plant in Manali, says a press release from the Chennai Port Trust.
Atulya Misra, Chairman, Chennai Port Trust, appreciated the efforts of port employees in handling such a complicated cargo. He also complimented the vessel's agent JM Baxi for their continuous support in bringing such vessel to the port.
