The Cochin Port Trust bagged the ‘Old is Gold' award of Kirloskar Brother Ltd (KBL), Pune, for the oldest Kirloskar Industrial Pump in working condition in India.

The award was given for the 40-HP pump installed in the water supply section on the port trust premises. It has been in working condition for the last 60 years.

The maintenance of the pump has been carried out by the mechanical section of the Port Trust. It is noteworthy that there are about four pumps still working perfectly in Port Trust even after 60 years since installation.

The award was given away as part of the Centenary Celebration of Kirloskar Company in a function held at Pune, recently.
