Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) today delivered the second and the last of the series of high tech Rolls Royce series of Platform Supply Vessel, ‘SCI Yamuna’, to The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, Mumbai.

The vessel is dual classed under the Rules and Regulations of IRS Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) and registered under the Indian flag with Mumbai as the homeport.

This 79 x 16 metre vessel is a high end diesel electric platform supply vessel with 4 Nos 994 KW diesel generator sets and two 1470 KW Azimuth thrusters.

The vessel with redundant dynamic positioning (DP2) system features has been assigned the ‘CLEAN DESIGN’ notation by DNV signifying the highest levels of environmental compliance, a CSL release said.

The protocol documents of the ship were signed by Arun Kumar Gupta, Director (Technical & Offshore Services) on behalf of SCI and Capt R S Sundar, Director (Operations) on behalf of Cochin Shipyard.

K Subramaniam, Chairman and Managing Director of CSL, Ravikumar Roddam, Director (Finance), and P Vinayakumar, Director (Technical) and other senior officials were present.

While accepting the vessel, Gupta, Director, SCI, said earlier ships of the series delivered by CSL were performing exceedingly well and good reports have been received from the end user regarding its quality and performance.

He said this was the 10th ship being taken over by SCI from CSL.
