The Defence Ministry has given approval for the repair of Kanpur Airport, which falls under the purview of IAF, and the renovation work would be completed in the next two years, the Union Minister, Mr Sriprakash Jaiswal, said on Friday.
Mr Jaiswal, the local MP, said he had urged the Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Vayalar Ravi, and the Defence Minister, Mr A.K. Antony, with regard to the renovation of runways and improving facilities at Civil Air Terminal of Kanpur Airport.
“Mr Antony informed me through a letter that the Airport Authority of India has been given approval for repairing tracks at the airport. He has also assured that the work will be completed in the next two years,” he said.
