The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has appointed Ayesa Ingenieria Arquitectura SAV, a design consultant, for the ₹6,208 crore Andheri (E) to Dahisar (E) Metro-7 corridor.
The Executive Committee of MMRDA, headed by state Chief Secretary Swadhin Kshatriya, has accorded administrative approval to the appointment of Ayesa Ingenieria Arquitectura SAV as the detail design consultant, a statement said.
The firm is expected to develop architectural, electrical and mechanical plans and designs of all the 14 stations on the 16.5-km long Metro-7 corridor. Further, the firm will carry out design for the depot structure and proof-check the designs submitted by the contractors, the release stated.
“Metro corridors will be the saviours as far as the future of this city is concerned. Hence, the necessary urgency is being given to the metro rail projects. We are sure of starting construction of the Metro-7 corridor post monsoon,” MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner UPS Madan said.
The 14 stations on the corridor are — Andheri (E), Shankarwadi, JVLR Junction, Mahanand, Aarey, Pathan Wadi, Pushpa Park, Bandongri, Mahindra & Mahindra, Magathane, Devipada, National Park, Ovaripada and Dahisar (E).
