Eastern Railway's stores department is to shortly introduce e-auction to improve the level of transparency in the sale of scrap through auctions, according to an ER release.
SMS alerts to vendors too will be launched shortly drawing their attention to the issue of purchase advice, urgent delivery requirements in a more effective and transparent manner. Meanwhile, the stores department has launched a new material management information system facilitating online depot transaction and data extractions by EDI, the release added.
