Low-cost air carrier IndiGo has flagged off its maiden foray into the international market with the launch of flights to Muscat and Singapore and plans to further expand its operations to touch down in Dubai and Bangkok from early next month.

While round-trip Mumbai-Muscat-Mumbai flights will only commence from October 10, the carrier has already launched four flights a week between Muscat and Mumbai, which will leave Muscat on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The same flight will continue to Singapore after a brief stopover in Mumbai. Mumbai-Muscat flights will be on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the airline said here.

“Other than being known for affordable fares, IndiGo holds a record of the best ‘On Time Performance’ in India that is consistently above 90 per cent! This further reiterates the carrier’s commitment to offering an unmatched customer experience,” said a spokesperson of IndiGo GSA, Muscat International Services.

The airline will connect Delhi and Mumbai to Dubai and Bangkok from early next month.

IndiGo President, Mr Aditya Ghosh, said Muscat is a key market for the airline and a large Indian population based in Oman can experience IndiGo’s product offerings.

“IndiGo is committed toward providing affordable fares to the growing market of frequent travellers in Oman and likewise, offer increased daily flights in future. We are diligently working with the authorities to get additional rights to cater to the growing India-Oman traffic,” he said.
