Jet Airways has joined the growing list of airlines globally that disallows passengers from carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones.
"Carriage of this particular device (Samsung Galaxy Note 7) on person, in the cabin and as part of checked baggage is strictly prohibited on all Jet Airways aircraft with immediate effect. Shipping of these devices by air cargo is also prohibited,” the airline said in a statement.
Vistara and Air Asia India are the two other airlines in India which have admitted to not allowing its passengers to carry the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones on its flights.
The ban has been imposed due to security concerns about the phone.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is yet to place any ban on carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phone which the three Indian carriers have banned.
