Sea Trade of South India has conferred the 'Major Port of the Year-2014' award on Kandla port, located in Gujarat.
The Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, presented the award to Sanjay Bhaty, Officer-in-Charge, BDC, Kandla Port Trust, at a function held last week in Kochi, KPT said in a statement here on Monday.
Kandla port was selected for the award by a jury headed by Mohandas, former Union Secretary, Ministry of Shipping.
