Madura railway station is soon to have the escalator facility connecting different platforms soon, for the benefit of passengers.
According to railway sources, the Rs.3 crore project has been sanctioned and the tendering process is in progress. On an average about 40,000 persons visit the station daily and a total of 70 trains arrive and depart from the station for various destinations, apart from Madurai.
