A district-level coordination committee meeting convened by Mangalore MP, Mr Nalin Kumar Kateel, discussed issues related to the Mangalore airport.
Addressing the district-level officials, Mr Kateel said Volvo bus service from Mangalore city to the airport would be launched by July 15.
On the extension of the runway by another 1000 ft, he said 150 acres of land has been identified for acquisition. The acquisition is estimated to cost around Rs 36 crore, he said.
A press release said here that the meeting also discussed the effective utilisation of the old terminal building for handling air cargo at the airport.
