GVK’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, managed by Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd, is among three airports the world over that has been inducted in the Director General’s Roll of Excellence instituted by the Airports Council International.
The recognition for GVK’s CSIA was based on the opinion of passengers who participated in ACI’s Airport Service Quality survey, which identifies those airports that have consistently delivered excellence in customer service. MIAL has been ranked among the top five consecutively from 2009 to 2014.
The survey took into consideration 34 key service parameters which included eight major categories such as access, check-in, security, airport facilities, food and beverage and retail. Since 2011, only 27 airports from across the world have been inducted into this elite group.
“A focus on exceeding passenger expectations is crucial in the competitive global aviation industry,” Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World, said.
Indianapolis International Airport in the US and Gimpo International Airport in South Korea, are the other two airports that have been inducted this year in the elite group.
GVK Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, GVK, said, “This honour will encourage us to create newer benchmarks in providing customer delight. And with Terminal 2 gearing up to accommodate the domestic carriers in the coming months, more and more travellers will be able to experience world class facilities and passenger comfort.”
