To ensure that the remote Ladakh region remains connected to the rest of the State throughout the year, the Jammu and Kashmir government today said that it is “actively” pursuing with the Centre the construction of tunnels on Srinagar-Leh highway.
“We are pursuing with the Central government the construction of tunnels at Z-Morh and Zojila to make the Srinagar-Leh road pliable for traffic throughout the year,” the Chief Minister, Mr Omar Abdullah, today said after inaugurating several tourist facilities at Sonamarg, 85 km from here.
