Railway employees to get productivity linked bonus

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has given its approval to pay productivity linked bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days wages to eligible non-gazetted railway employees (excluding RPF/RPSF personnel) for the financial year 2015-16. The approval entails a financial implication of approximately Rs 2,090.96 crore, said a release.

“This is subject to a ceiling of Rs 7,000. Each employee will be getting a maximum of about Rs 18,000,” M Raghavaiah, General Secretary, National Federation of Indian Railwaymen, told BusinessLine.

Payment of PLB would result in motivating a large number of railway employees to improve the performance of railways and enhance the productivity levels further besides maintaining industrial peace.

Payment owill be made before Dussehra/Puja holidays, stated the release.
