Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has decided to give 10 per cent cash back on food orders of over ₹300, if ordered on a pre-paid basis, said a release.

IRCTC has entered into a tie-up with tea café chain Chaayos to deliver tea in trains. The partnership with Chaayos will ensure that passengers get their tea and snacks delivered to their train seats directly. Initially, the collaboration is for all trains at New Delhi station, and will soon be extended to other stations across Delhi and Mumbai.

Chaayos co-founder Raghav Verma said the partnership with IRCTC would be a great chance for people to get their favourite cup of tea even while travelling in trains.

“We have developed an innovative method to deliver tea — disposable kettles consist of a heat retaining pouch and an outer cardboard packaging, to ensure that the tea delivered stays hot for an hour,” he added.

Chaayos, which has 20 cafes in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, will offer many of its customised tea options such as kulhad chai , adrak tulsi chai and honey ginger lemon.

Passengers will have to order their tea two hours ahead of the train’s arrival time, from the website and phone number. IRCTC has also launched a mobile app through which orders may be placed. The company offers 25 varieties of tea that can be customised in over 12,000 ways.

The e-catering cash-back offer is valid for meals booked through IRCTC and of value of more than ₹300 in a single order. The payment mode used for booking the meal should be pre-paid by using the payment gateway of HDFC or Paytm to avail the cash back offer, added the release.

The offer is not valid if the order is partially/fully cancelled and the booking amount is reduced to less than ₹300. The cash back will be processed only after the delivery date. It will be paid into the same account through which the payment was made for the meal booking. The customer will be intimated once the cash back is processed by IRCTC.
