Srinagar and Port Blair are this year’s most wallet-friendly destinations, recording significant drops in average flight prices.

Bangkok has overhauled Dubai as the most popular destination for Indian holidaymakers, according to The Travel Hacker Guide of travel search engine Kayak. The findings, shared by Kayak, provide insights into destinations that are most searched.

According to the top 10 most popular holiday spots ranking, after Bangkok comes New York.

Dubai down, Goa up Dubai, last year’s most popular destination, has moved down two places to the third spot. Goa moved up three spots to the fourth rank.

In its first Travel Hacker Guide for India, Kayak analysed over 1.5 billion annual travel search queries to cull valuable tips for travellers planning their next holiday. Kayak is part of the Priceline Group, the world’s leading online travel facilitator.

The Guide provides insights, travel tips and rankings of the popular and top-trending destinations, as well as the most affordable cities to fly to and the best times to book flights.

‘Reliable info’ Abhijit Mishra, Regional Manager, India and Middle East of Kayak, said, “ The Travel Hacker Guide will give Indian holidaymakers the most reliable information to plan their travel with confidence.”

Price-drop destinations “It not only ranks cities based on how they fare in terms of searches, but also provides median hotel rates and flight costs and a selection of popular and trending hotels in each destination.

It acts as a reference for users on when to book, where to go, interesting hacker tips, and sightseeing locations for each destination,” Mishra explained.

The Guide features four top-ten lists, including biggest price-drop destinations, along with most popular international and domestic destinations.

Other destinations such as Jammu, Muscat and Kochi also recorded significant drop in average flight prices over the previous year.

The Guide recommends timelines and highlights ways to save for travel to wallet-friendly destinations.
