Vistara will operate 530 weekly flights by the end of the year, up from the current level of 440 weekly services, Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer, said on Monday.

Addressing a press conference to announce the relaunch of frequent flyer programme (FFP) Club Vistara, Sanjiv added that the airline will be inducting the 13th Airbus 320 aircraft into its fleet in October.

Terming Club Vistara as the fastest rewarding FFP among the domestic airlines, Phee Teik Yeoh, Chief Executive Officer, said the scheme not only provides its members with enhanced privileges but also offers the fastest earn and redemption, and faster elite tier upgrades.

The airline has introduced a new platinum membership level and a two-track scheme for elite tier qualification, based on points accrued or flights flown, whichever is quicker.

Typically, an airline offers points to its FFP members based on the cost of the flight — the higher the cost of the ticket the more the points. The points can be redeemed for free flights or upgrade to a higher cabin.

Passengers availing themselves of FFP miles redemption have to pay only the taxes.

Tata Singapore Airlines Ltd, which operates Vistara, is a 51:49 joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines.
