The Lok Sabha will take up Finance Bill on Thursday. The Bill has key taxation provisions such as more relief under Income Tax Act and hiking the service tax rate. The Bill also has provision for merger of FMC with SEBI and setting up a Public Debt Office. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha on Wednesday voted demands for grants of various Ministries of over ₹60 lakh crore without any discussion after applying guillotine on the debate. It also passed the Appropriation Bill authorising government to withdraw ₹62.03 lakh crore from the Consolidated Fund to meet its expenditure during 2015-16, thus completing the second phase of the budgetary exercise.
