Management graduates should focus on innovation in entrepreneurship by taking advantage of the vast domestic market presented by India's teeming population, said Mr K. Ilango, Joint Managing Director, RSM Autokast, Coimbatore.
Participating in the Business Line Club lecture series presented by Tata Photon at RVS Institute of Management Studies and Research here recently, Mr Ilango pointed out that our country was recognized largely for its manufacturing strength, thanks to the advantage it enjoyed as low-cost center. But India could lose this advantage to some other lower-cost destination. Most major brands present in consumer goods, automotive or food industry were not Indian-owned. This revealed India was yet to perfect its strength in managing creativity and product innovation, he felt.
In this background, business students could sense the opportunities opening up in the field of branding, management of trade mark and protection of intellectual properties. Mr. Ilango wanted the industry to create an environment that fosters innovation in entrepreneurship as today's young business graduates have the talent within them to excel.
