Now, get Mata Vaishno Devi prasad through India Post

Jammu & Kashmir has finalised the delivery of prasad of Mata Vaishno Devi temple and saffron from Kashmir across India shortly, thanks to India Post.

This decision was taken in a review meeting by Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Communications, Law & Justice and Electronics and Information Technology.

According to a statement from the Ministry, Punjab is promoting the booking and distribution of medicines through post offices and in association with the Common Service Centres.

The statement said that more than 2,000 tonnes of medicines and medical equipment were booked and delivered to needy individuals and hospitals across the country during the lockdown period.

“Around ₹1,500 crore disbursed at the door step using Aadhar-enabled Payment System (AePS) of India Post Payment Bank to around 85 lakh beneficiaries,” it said.

Also, 75 lakh electronic money orders payments made under various schemes of financial inclusion worth ₹760 crore and Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) payments worth ₹1,100 crore disbursed in beneficiary accounts during this period, it said. Bihar excelled in taking Apka Bank Apke Dwar with around 11.65 lakh disbursal worth ₹147 crore, it was informed.

The Ministry said that the review meeting was conducted on first “Make in India” video conferencing solution developed by C-DOT. “As such, it was also a first successful trial run of the VC solution,” it added.
