West Bengal Chief Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, took to the streets on Saturday to protest the hike in petrol prices.
Ms Banerjee was accompanied by Union Railway Minister, Mr Mukul Roy and other Trinamool Congress leaders in the rally against its ally, the Congress.
More than thousand Trinamool Congress workers marched from Jadavpur to Hazra crossing covering a distance of five km in South Kolkata. Protesters demanded a rollback of the petrol price hike.
Ms Banerjee claimed that the increase in prices was a ‘burden' on the common man. She also said the hike in petrol price was ‘unacceptable'.
