Mizoram has a gender ratio of 975 females to every 1,000 males, perhaps the best sex ratio in the country, State Home Minister, Mr R. Lalzirliana, said here today while releasing the provisional census report 2011 for the State.
Mizoram has a population of 10,91,014, comprising 5,52,339 males and 5,38,675 females, he said. Decadal growth rate of the population of the State was 22.78 per cent against the decadal rate of the country which stood at 17.64 per cent, and the density of population was 52 persons per square kilometre as against 42 persons per sq. km in the 2001 Census.
