Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd, Kakinada has commissioned its customized fertiliser plant at Kakinada.

Mr M. N. Bhaskaran, Executive Vice-President, Marketing, and Mr G.V.S. Anand, GM Plant operations, NFCL, flagged off the first dispatch of customised fertilisers on Thursday, to the farmers of East Godavari (rice crop) and Telangana region for cotton crop.

The soil-and-crop specific fertiliser is manufactured with sound plant nutrition principles. It contains both macro and micro nutrients and provide balanced nutrition to the crop.

Nagarjuna is the first company in South India to produce customised fertilizers. By the next Kharif season customised fertilizers for maize, sugarcane, chilli will be available in the market. The current plant has a production capacity of 400 tonnes a day, a release said.
