Networking with people having the expertise and with different professionals is important in building the business.

Speaking at the TiE Hubli sponsored panel discussion on ‘Leveraging opportunity — Diversifying or Scaling', Mr Gururaj Deshpande stressed that “getting to know and understanding their businesses was important in a business set-up to scale on a positive path.”

He also urged professionals to make use of the experts' experience that was available through TiE Hubli in growing businesses.

The TiE event at Hubli saw personalities such asMr Ken Zolot, Professor of Entrepreneurship, MIT Boston, Mr Anant Koppar, Chairman, K2 Technologies, Mr Vijay Sankeshwar, Chairman, VRL Group chairing the session, and Dr Gururaj Deshpande, Founder, Deshpande Foundation, participating.

Intention

The event intended to give feedback to the business houses on whether they should ‘diversify or scale-up' in their business based on their paper presentation. The programme is first of its kind and innovative organised by TiE, Hubli, had all-round praise from the participants.

The panel discussion saw four paper presentations — Mr Vivek Naik of Ken Agritrech, Mr Gaurav Shah of ‘Seven Beans', Mr Prasanna Dixit of Mahaveer Infoway Ltd and Mr Vivek Pawar of ‘Sankalp Semi Conductors'.

Tips to participants

The panelists (Mr Gururaj Dehspande, Mr Ken Zolot, Mr Anant Koppar and Mr Vijay Sankeshwar), who all had started their businesses from the scratch, gave in a lot of valuable inputs to the presenters with relevance to their business and how they came up.

Mr Vijay Sankeshwar suggested that there will be many barriers that can come up during the business run and how should they be tackled, without allowing your business to succumb to these pressures. He also opined that ‘branding' is the essence of successful business.

Mr Anant Koppar from K2 Technologies suggested that having a vision was very necessary for the business to grow and succeed.

The event took place at the BVB College Campus. Mr Naveen Jha, President, TiE Hubli presided over the function and Mr Sheshgiri Kulkarni, chartered accountant, anchored the workshop.
