NMDC today reiterated its commitment to support development activities in Chhattisgarh, where it has a significant presence.
NMDC said it is consistently spending more than 80 per cent of its CSR funds amounting to ₹465 crore out of a total ₹537 crore, in the State in the last three years.
In keeping with ongoing commitment for the development of Chhattisgarh, the iron ore mining company is fully committed to provide all support to the Chhattisgarh government for various development works. As part of the fight against the Covid-19 virus NMDC has contributed ₹150 crore to the PMCARES Fund. This is in addition to what NMDC has committed for the developmental works. N. Baijendra Kumar, CMD, NMDC in a statement said, “NMDC has always played an active role in the growth of the Chhattisgarh state. Most of the flagship CSR initiatives of NMDC are implemented in Chhattisgarh in the Bastar Division. NMDC has excellent relations with the State government and is committed to work for the best interests of the people in the years to come.”
