The Finance Ministry may not impose for now any additional excise duty on diesel cars, a top official has indicated.
There is no proposal as yet to impose additional excise on diesel cars, Mr S.K. Goel, Chairman of Central Board of Excise & Customs, told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.
In his address at the event, Mr Goel said that the CBEC was working on a single window concept to facilitate trade. Once this is implemented, trade can file online application to only one agency and all other related approvals from other agencies will be processed automatically, Mr Goel said.
