A campaign to use science & technology to raise awareness about nutrition and scientific cooking methods was kicked off here on Monday by Padmashri awardee and mountaineer Santosh Yadav. On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Delhi Government, Vigyan Prasar, a unit of the department of science and technology and Institute of Gender Justice will start an interactive week-long campaign, from March 8 to 15, in the slums of Delhi on mobile vans.
“We want to make the women aware about the importance of nutrition, the proper method to cook to retain nutrients as well as about women-specific diseases through films, books, exhibitions, etc,” said Ms Kiran Walia, Delhi's Minister for Women and Child Development.
