There are still many procedures that need to be simplified and authority to be delegated for town and country planning, said the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In a memorandum submitted to Mr Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Director of Town and Country Planning, Chennai, during his visit to the city recently, Mr N. Jegatheesan, President of the Chamber, said that there is more to be accomplished and urged for appropriate recommendation to the Government for necessary action. The memorandum drew attention tothe use of a fund of Rs 7-crore fund remaining idle with the Madurai Local Planning Authority.
