The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, is expected to be in the city on Saturday. According to initial reports from officials at Writers' Buildings, the Prime Minister will arrive on Saturday morning to attend two programmes in the city.
The two programmes include one at the Bose Institute of Nuclear Physics in Salt Lake on the eastern fringes of the city and the Science Congress at Calcutta University. He will return to Delhi later in the day.
