The Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, is likely to introduce in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday a Constitutional amendment Bill that will pave the way for introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) system in the country.
He is also expected to introduce the Banking laws (amendment) Bill 2011, which will amend, among other laws, the Banking Regulation Act. The amendment to Banking regulation Act will pave the way for issue of additional banking licences to private sector players.
