The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced a series of public rallies to press for the recall of the Karnataka Governor, Mr H.R. Bhardwaj, saying the agitation would continue till he leaves the State.
The party has decided to intensify its protest against the Governor, who had sanctioned the prosecution of the S Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, last week.
Senior BJP leaders including Mr M.Venkaiah Naidu and the party MLAs and MLCs staged a protest in front of the Raj Bhavan and courted arrest.
“We will continue our agitation till he leaves Karnataka,” said Mr K.S. Eshwarappa, Karnataka BJP Chief, in a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party earlier in the day.
