ISRO scientist Mr K S Dasgupta on Tuesday assumed charge as Director of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) here. He succeeds Mr B N Suresh, founder director of IIST.
Mr Dasgupta, an expert in image processing and satellite communications, had been the Deputy Director, Space Application Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad, said a press release.
Mr Dasgupta, former director of Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU) of ISRO, was instrumental in developing various satellite communication applications and in supervising design and development of communication systems and payloads for GSLV projects, the release said.
