The former Petroleum Minister, Mr Murli Deora, took charge of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs here today. The former Minister for Corporate Affairs, Mr Salman Khurshid, has been elevated to the rank of a Cabinet Minister for Water Resources and retains the portfolio of Minority Affairs.
In the presence of the Secretary Mr R. Bandyopadhyay and other senior officers of the Ministry, Mr Khurshid handed over the portfolio to Mr Deora.
He also stated that his priority would be to push for the enactment of the Companies Bill in the forthcoming Budget Session of Parliament.
