The BJP Government has referred the controversial Insurance Laws (Amendment) Bill to the select committee in Rajya Sabha.
The select committee is expected to submit its report by the first week of Winter Session of Parliament.
The move to send the Insurance Bill to select committee was expected given that the Opposition parties, especially Congress, raised the issue of substantial change in the language of the provision concerning increase in foreign investment.
