Jammu and Kashmir plans to register all units trading in genuine handloom goods and textile items in the State with a view to curbing the sale of fake Kashmiri handloom products in the market.
Jammu and Kashmir State Handloom Development Corporation Ltd (JKSHDC) intends to register unit holder and handloom cooperative societies, manufacturing and wholesale dealers and traders for trading of genuine handloom goods and other textile items, the JKSHDC Assistant General Manager, Mr M.A. Gani, said.
Units holders can register themselves with the JKSHDC at a refundable fee of Rs 10,000, he said. The decision was taken in view of the sale of fake handloom products and items in the market.
