Former Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Mr Justice Benjamin Koshy, is tipped to become Chairman of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission.
Mr Justice Koshy’s name has been recommended to the Governor, Mr R.S. Gavai, unanimously by the selection panel, comprising the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, the Opposition Leader, Mr V.S. Achuthanandan, and the State Assembly Speaker, Mr G. Karthikeyan, a spokesman of the Chief Minister’s office said.
Mr Justice Koshi will replace Mr Justice N. Dhinakaran whose term as Chairman of SHRC has expired.
Hailing from Aranumla in Pathanamthitta district, Mr Justice Koshy had served as a Judge in Kerala High Court before becoming the Chief Justice of Patna High Court.
