Targetting a business of about Rs 5,000 crore in next 10 years by micro, small and medium enterprises in the state, Orissa government in collaboration with the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) was all set to hold a week long MSME international trade fair 2011 from tomorrow.

“MSME from across the country are participating in the exhibition to show case their products here,” industries secretary T Ramachandru told reporters here.

With large investments pouring into the state in steel, aluminium, cement, power and port sectors, Orissa was optimistic about a bright future in the MSME, he said.

“If all the MoUs are implemented in the state, about Rs 6 lakh crore will be invested here. Therefore, these industries will undertake a business of above Rs 50,000 crore per annum. We hope the MSME will get a share from the huge transaction to be made in coming days,” Ramachandru said.

Besides local delegates, foreign MSME representatives from South Africa, Bangladesh, Thailand were also invited to the MSME international trade fair, 2011 here, he pointed out.

“This fair will give a huge platform for MSME for which 250 stalls are to be set up here,” said NSIC chief manager, Orissa, P C Nayak said.

Buyer—seller meet is one of the important event of the week—long trade fair where large industries like Nalco, MCL, RSP, NTPC and others will participate, Nayak said adding that for credit support to MSME, bankers and other institutions are also invited to the exhibition. PTI AAM MM PS 03041632
