Oushadhi, a public sector Ayurvedic medicine manufacturer, has paid out a dividend of Rs 1 crore to the Kerala Government by way of dividend for 2010-11.
The Health Minister, Mr V.S. Sivakumar, handed over a cheque to the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, here.
The company had recorded a turnover of Rs 45 crore and a profit of Rs 6.69 crore during the period under reference, an official spokesman said here.
Oushadhi is supplying Ayurvedic preparations to 1,035 government hospitals and dispensaries at concessional prices.
In turn, the Department of Indigenous Medicines gives away these free-of-cost to patients. The company also supplies to five other states.
